Don Saunders
Investor

Don Saunders co-founded HardMetrics Inc. in 2003 with Rob Winner to bring "Metrics to the Masses." Don's vision is to make performance management ubiquitous in business process management through ease of use, affordability and end-user-self-service. Don has three decades of distinguished IT entrepreneurship, software development and executive management experience in business performance management technology.

Don was a founder and President of Aston Brooke Software. Aston Brooke developed DBVision, the first real time performance management solution for Oracle. Don joined PLATINUM technology after selling Aston Brooke to the billion-dollar software giant. At PLATINUM, Don was part of the core team that turned DBVision into a $100 million product line and extended the product's support to all relational database platforms. After integrating DBVision into Platinum's solutions, Don launched PLATINUM technology into 11 countries across Asia Pacific. He grew the business from $0 to more than $30 million, building in-country world class teams that delivered and supported emerging business intelligence, database and systems performance management software solutions.

Don launched his first company, The Matrix Organization, in 1980. Matrix grew into a premier US East Coast database, networking and business intelligence consulting firm. Twice listed in Inc. Magazine's "Fastest Growing 500," in the 1980's, Matrix eventually became a part of IBM.

Don started his career as an application programmer in Penn Mutual Life's corporate IT department in 1972. Since that very beginning, Don has focused his technical, managerial and entrepreneurial efforts on delivering solutions that empower end users' access to the information they need, especially the performance metrics that guide users to higher productivity.

Don is a 1971 alumnus of Rutgers University. He did his MS and PhD work at the University of Florida and the University of Pennsylvania in communication theory.
